“C’era un ragazzo che come me amava i Beatles e i Rolling Stones… cantava viva la libertà.” Così era Gigi Meroni: giovane, anticonformista e campione granata del pallone; la sua morte, travolto da un’auto, lo ha consacrato per sempre come mito giovanile e sportivo.  Lo ricorda, sul luogo dell’incidente, una piccola stele, fortemente voluta dai suoi tifosi che, a distanza di trent’anni, non l’hanno dimenticato.

he sang Long Live Freedom”. So goes a song and Gigi Meroni was just the same – a young and nonconformist Torino team soccer player, whose death under the wheels of a motorcar consecrated him forever as a young sports myth. He is commemorated on the very place of his deathly accident by a stone slab strongly wanted by his supporters who have never forgotten him, even 30 years later.
