Fondò una rivista satirica nel 1856 e le diede il nome di Pasquino, ispirandosi alla tradizione popolaresca che a Roma ha trasformato una statuetta di epoca romana in altarino su cui deporre sarcastiche rime antigovernative, indignate proteste e goliardate varie. Gli occhi non vi ingannano se vedete Casimiro Teja ridere sotto i baffi.

In 1856, he founded a satirical magazine called Pasquino, inspired by Rome’s popular tradition that turned a statue into an altar for depositing risqué anti-Government leaflets, indignant protestations and miscellaneous student quips.
