È questa una delle prime opere d’arte pubblica in città, nata dopo lungo travaglio di idee e polemiche: rappresenta il duca Emanuele Filiberto, le cui scelte politiche, nel XVI secolo, posero la base per l’affermazione dei Savoia come potenza dinastica e territoriale. Torino, epicentro di questa espansione, ha eletto il monumento, noto come Caval ‘d brons, a vero e proprio simbolo cittadino.

This is one of the town’s first works of public art, born after lengthy and heated debate.
It shows Duke Emanuele Filiberto, whose 16th Century political decisions laid the foundations for the House of Savoy’s success as a dynasty and territorial power.
As the epicentre of this expansion, Turin selected this monument known as the Caval ‘d Brons, to be the town’s real and proper symbol.
