In a fascinating space on the roof of the Lingotto Building in Torino, Fiat historic industrial complex, the Pinacoteca permanently houses the private art collection which belonged to Giovanni and Marella Agnelli.

Opened on September 20th 2002, the Pinacoteca marks the final step in the twenty-year-long restructuring process of the whole Lingotto site, signed by Renzo Piano. The "Scrigno", or Jewel Box, an extraordinary container that dominates the roof-top test track, hosts 25 masterpieces, 23 paintings and 2 sculptures dating from the XVIIIth and the XXth century: Matisse, Canaletto, Bellotto and then Canova, Tiepolo, Renoir, Manet, Modigliani, Picasso. Below the "Scrigno", the Pinacoteca develops on other floors, where temporary exhibitions take place, as well as a center for art education, offices, a library, a bookshop.
