THE AGREEMENT TO PROMOTE THE GREEN ECONOMY DEVELOPMENT SIGNED IN DUBAI

Torino is part of the international network of bodies and institutions promoted by the Dubai Green Economy Partnership, an organisation born in 2012 in the United Arab Emirates to promote, in the Middle East and over
the world, the adoption and the diffusion of economic models aimed at reducing the environmental impact, at using renewable technologies and waste recycling and, more generally, at pushing countries towards a sustainable development across regional and global markets.
This morning in Dubai - at the Investment Development Agency (FDI) offices - the Mayor of Torino, Ms Chiara Appendino and the Secretary General of the Dubai Green Economy Partnership, Mr Fahad Al Gergawi signed a memorandum committing the Municipality of Torino and the Dubai Green Economy Partnership (DGEP) to cooperating in order to give visibility and mutual understanding, through media, websites and social media channels, to all initiatives and projects aimed to develop a green economy.
“This agreement will enable the City and its business companies to multiply the possibilities especially in a country such as the United Arab Emirates which play more and more an important and essential role of indispensable global logistic platform”, declared the Mayor of Torino, Ms Chiara Appendino.
“Next months – the Mayor added – these contacts will be included in the Open for Business project and, in collaboration with Mr Pierpaolo Antonioli, president of the Centro Estero Internazionalizzazione Piemonte (CEIP -
Agency for Investments, Export and Tourism) will be systematized in the in the CEIP is carrying out”.
The Dubai Green Economy Partnership, as established by the agreement promoted for the next year, will provide support to the City of Torino as strategic partner, sending newsletters to the DGEP members, information on the Municipality green economy, promoting at international level, especially to DGEP founders, the green activities realized by the Municipality through communication campaigns, reserving spaces on its web pages and spreading news through social media channels.
