The Museum was established in 1923 from material belonging to previous collections. In 1936 it was transferred to its present location, and since 1961 it has belonged to the University. The material on view includes numerous research collections in the fields of primatology, anthropology, paleontology and ethnography, and contains exhibits of exceptional quality.
