July 8th-11th Mission to Saint Petersburg - Russian Federation

The Deputy Mayor in charge of Culture of the City of Torino Maurizio Braccialarghe went to Saint Petersburg, together with the Fondazione Cultura and the Turismo Torino e Provincia Agency, for a promotional mission related to the schedule of ExpoTo 2015, at the same time of the tour of the Teatro Regio in Russia.

On July 8th the Deputy Mayor first took part in the press conference of the Teatro Regio at the Ermitage Museum and then opened, in the afternoon, the promotional event of the City of Torino, organised in cooperation with the Consulate General of Italy in Saint Petersburg, Turismo Torino e Provincia and ENIT, at the Four Seasons Lions Palace Hotel, "Torino, a city to discover", in order to present the cultural activities 2014/2015 and in particular the cultural programme of ExpoTo 2015. The event was followed by a tasting of typical products of Torino.

In the following days the Deputy Mayor had the chance to take part in several meetings with the managers of the main museums of the city and with the local authorities, to strengthen the bonds between the two cities. More into detail the Deputy Mayor met in the morning of July 9th the Mayor of Tolyatti Sergey Andreyevand in the afternoon the Deputy Governor of Saint Petersburg first, Vasiliy N. Kichedzhi, and then the President of the Culture Committee Vasily Pankratov and the Manager of the Theatre Company Neva-Art, Viktor Minkov. On July 10th then he meet the President of the Committee for the development of Tourism of Saint Petersburg Inna Shalyto, the Director of the Erarta Musuem Natalia Samoilova and the Director of the National Museum of the Ermitage Mikhail Piotrovskiy.

During the mission, the delegation was also guest of the Consul General of Italy in Saint Petersburg Luigi Estero, together with the Superintendent of the Teatro Regio Walter Vergnano and the Orchestra Leader Gianandrea Noseda as the Messa da Requiem of Juseppe Verdi  was staged on July 9th at the Mariinskj Theatre and the coral simphony Concert - featuring music of Giuseppe Verdi, choir and Orchestra of the Tatro Regio of Torino - on July 10th in the courtyard of the Ermitage Museum.
