The Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino signed in Milan the Urban Food Policy Pact, food charter promoted by more than 40 cities around the world coordinated by Milan, host of the Universal Exposition 2015. The protocol, fruit of the joint work of the cities that signed it and a task force of international experts, commits the signatories to confront their food policies paying particular attention to sustainable development and food safety. On October 16th the protocol was presented to the Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki-moon, visiting EXPO on the occasion of the World Food Day.
