The “Torino Olympic City” competition

In preparation for the XX Olympic Winter Games, Torino City Council, in collaboration with the Associazione Illustratori, launched an international illustration competition on the theme of “Torino Olympic City”. The competition was part of the initiatives to celebrate the Association’s 25th anniversary (2005/2006). It addressed the world’s best talents in the world of illustration, who were called upon to use their creative skills and imagination to interpret and showcase the role and identity of the city that will be the protagonist of the Torino 2006 Games.

The compulsory theme of the competition was “Torino Olympic City” and the artworks had to relate to:

  • the city and the Olympic ideals

The artworks had be presented in A3 size, vertically or horizontally, using any technique: in colour, black and white, on paper, canvas, stiff or flexible card, done by hand or using digital technology.

The judges examined more than 200 entries from all over the world.
