On 3 and 4 June, from the royal residences of Turin - Venaria Reale, Villa dei Laghi and Parco della Mandria, Palazzina di Caccia of Stupinigi, Palazzo Reale, Biblioteca Reale and piazza Castello – a great production of the celebrated opera by Gioacchino Rossini, transmitted live by RAI 1 and in worldwide broadcast.
From 23rd May to 05th June the first festival on the intelligent city, the environment, innovation, and sustainability, with conferences, fairs, arts, music, and shows all around the city.
After the great success of the first edition of the Festival Architettura in Città (Architecture in the City Festival), it is back this year with an intense programme of cultural initiatives in outdoor spaces and private locations in Turin and the metropolitan area, offered by selected government bodies, agencies and associations, trade associations and training centres. Thirty academics from all over Europe take part in Erasmus Day Live, a moment of enjoyment and aggregation, a reference point and showcase of the reality of university students and young Europeans. At Stupinigi and Parco Ruffini, from 1 to 8 June.
An initiative that lets the public discover one of the symbolic places of the city, the Stadio Olimpico (Olympic Stadium), which becomes the stage for numerous events: the Canine Exhibition Porta un amico allo stadio (Bring a friend to the stadium) on 2 and 3 June, Aspettando San Giovanni (Waiting for St. John) on 23 June, Estate in forma (Summer in shape) dedicated to fitness and wellness the day after, and Le nostre tradizioni (Our traditions), a journey between the past and the present, from 30 June to 1 July.
The prestigious international event, where the most original architects and designers in the world compete, has awarded this year the third price for the Look of the City - Torino 2011 to the Italian team Migliore+Servetto, by italo Lupi, Ico Migliore e Mara Servetto.

A new VIEW Conference competition to celebrate the creative force of technology at the service of society. Films, shorts, musical videos, advertising with 3D animation and/or special effects on themes tied to events and social life between 2011 and 2012. Work must be presented within 30th June, participation free, first prize 1000 Euro.
