Cioccolatò 2006

For the fourth year running, Turin bows before its love for chocolate and treats us to nine consecutive days dedicated to the sweetest of delights. Cioccolatò – the great chocolate festival - is back from March 24 to April 2. This year, it celebrates the occasion from the foot of the bronze horse, the ‘Caval d' Bronz’, in the newly-laid pedestrian area in the main square of Turin, piazza San Carlo.

A menu well and truly worth sampling is set to celebrate Turin’s traditional fervour and excitement for the “food of gods”; a menu that witnesses the bringing together of tradition and culture through places and people, legends, territories and their history.

To mark the occasion, Turin’s central salon will stage an event fit to satiate the ‘sweet tooth’ of older and younger generations alike. A rich calendar of events welcomes not only experts from the sector but also figures from the world of literature and entertainment with household names such as Giorgio Faletti and Diego Abatantuono.

March 31, meanwhile, will welcome “Notte Fondente” (Dark Melting Night): an event running dusk to dawn in celebration of chocolate with tango, juggling, clowns, travelling bands and dancing, DJs and sampling stands for all and sundry.
