Risorgimento Museum
A visit to the Museo del Risorgimento, located in Palazzo Carignano, means learning in detail about the history of the Unification of Italy, and how Turin became its first capital in 1861. 27 rooms exhibit documents, memorabilia, weapons, uniforms, flags and works of art that narrate the history of Italy from the late 18th century to the First World War. There are some fascinating reconstructions including Carlo Alberto’s death chamber at Oporto, and Camillo Cavour’s ministerial offices. Italy’s first national Parliament can be seen in the museum.
