“Duca degli Abruzzi” National Mountain Museum
The Museo Nazionale della Montagna “Duca degli Abruzzi” expresses Turin’s close bond with the Alps. The exhibition space presents an extensive philological study of the history, culture and traditions of the Alps, related through a vast assortment of memorabilia and materials. The museum rooms are also dedicated to temporary exhibits illustrating the various aspects of mountain-climbing. The structure also has a historic video library and with CAI-Italian Alpine Club, shares the management of its own library and documentation centre. At the top of the building you will find the “Vedetta Alpina”: a panoramic tower for observing the Alpine range that dominates the city.
