GAM — Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art

GAM – Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art

GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna and Contemporanea inherited the public collection of modern art formerly housed in the Museo Civico, inaugurated in 1863. Today it has a corpus that exceeds 15,000 works including painting, sculptures, installations and photographs, not to mention the vast collection of sketches and etchings. The collections cover the period from the late 18th century to the contemporary era, and document Italian and international art. You will find work by: Fontanesi, Fattori, Pelizza da Volpedo, Morandi, De Pisis, Casorati and Manzù, Severini, Modigliani, Balla, Klee and De Chirico. Neo-Dada and Pop Art works complete the collection. Each year GAM offers a fine programme of exhibitions that attract a large number of European visitors.
