Marco Iannelli, conductor
Marcello Sirotti, conductor
Gigio Alberti, narrator

150 children form a symphonic orchestra to recount the allure of the fable Peter and the Wolf by Prokof’ev.
It features a courageous young rascal, a grumbly grandfather, a duck, a bird, and…
a big bad wolf. A performance by children for
children - because the Under-13 Orchestra
tells yet another story: the thrill of picking up
a musical instrument and, with the first notes,
having great fun playing in an orchestra.

Geared to children
of all ages.

Against the backdrop of the Enlightenment and the
cultural and social conquests of the period,
the genius of Amadé, the young Mozart, stands out.
During a tour through Italy he rebelled against his father
and a lifestyle not suited to a child, no matter how much
of a genius he may be. The Italian tour concluded with a
stay in Torino, where, on January 27, 1771, he turned
15. That day Amadé realized he was no longer a gifted
child, as he set out on his way to adulthood.

The Musical Journey of the Gypsies
Andalusia:
Gypsy Flamenco

Carmen Cortez, dance
Gerardo Nuñez, Flamenco guitar
Jesus Ruiz, vocals
Pablo Martin, double bass
Angel Sanchez Gonzales “Cepillo”, percussion

In 1842, the concert cafes of Seville, and the ports of Cadice and Jerez de la Frontera were first exposed
to Flamenco guitar and cante jondo (“deep singing”), considered the most Gypsy-esque of Flamenco.
Here resides the duende, the state of pleasure, grace
or ecstasy, measured by the rhythm of the palmas, hand clapping, and jaleos, or the audience’s own verbal exclamations.
As described by Federico García Lorca, Flamenco is able to transport us to the edge of the abyss.
