The international association aims at increasing the exchange of experience and information on urban lighting. It brings together over 70 member towns and cities worldwide that use light as a tool for social, cultural and economic development. It also includes over 40 associated members from the lighting industry, design agencies and research institutes.

Torino has been a member of the association since 2002 with the Luci d’Artista light festival.
