Torino incontra la Francia: Torino tastes Lyon and Street Market from Chambéry

In the year that Torino dedicates to the cousins beyond the Alps, march schedules a programme rich of cultural events. The City of Chambéry and the City of Lyon presented a sequence of meeting dedicated to wine and food: three renowned chefs from Lyon prepared a dinner and gave cooking and pastry classes at the Maison Massena on March 22nd and 23rd allowing the public to discover French wines and foods, while on March 23rd and 24th a dozen of manufacturers and retailers from Chambéry and Savoy, as well as some entertainments for children, were in front of the City Hall displaying typical Savoy products - cold cuts, wines, cheeses, mushrooms, jams.
During the events the City welcomed the Vice Mayor of Chambéry Jean-Pierre Ruffier and the Vice President of the Urban Community Grand Lyon Nadine Gelas.

Seminar: "Italy-Sweden, smart cities' best practices confrontation"

On February 14th at Torino Incontra the City of Torino organized, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Torino, the Swedish Trade and Invest Council, Environment Park, The Foundation of the Order of Architects of Torino and Torino Wireless, a networking workshop to confront the best practices of the City of Torino and Swedish best practices on the Smart Cities issue. The guest were the City of Malmö, the Skellefteå Region and the University of Luleå from Sweden as well as several companies of the respective territories.

On February 6th at Palazzo Madama, the Mayor of the City of Torino Piero Fassino and the Deputy Mayor in charge of Culture of the City of Torino Maurizio Braccialarghe, the Ambassador of France in Italy Alain Le Roy and the Ambassador of Italy in France Giandomenico Magliano, officially presented the calendar of the initiative "Torino Incontra la Francia" scheduled in 2013.
Within the framework of "Torino incontra" - the new project that every year will give our city the chance to welcome and confront culture, creativity and art of a foreign country -, the City of Torino this year pays tribute to France dedicating a special focus to its characteristic cultural - tourist excellences.
"Torino incontra la Francia" is a project of the City of Torino realized with the support of GL events Lingotto Fiere and SNCF (Société nationale des chemins de fer français). Partner of the project is the Alliance française de Turin which created, along with the City, a specific cultural programme.
