Un gruppo di bersaglieri all’attacco: sono stremati, ma determinati a lottare fino all’ultimo respiro, assistiti da una figura femminile alata con un pugnale in mano, che pare più angelo della morte che non dea della vittoria. La morte in battaglia è un dramma a cui tutta l’Arma partecipa, un sentimento dolente che nel realismo crudo delle figure trova espressione.

A group of Bersaglieri attacking. They are worn out and some are close to death but still doggedly determined to fight to the very end, helped by a winged female who looks more like an Angel of Death than the Goddess of Victory. Death in battle is a drama the whole Corps take active part in, a painful feeling expressed in the crude realism of the monument’s figures.
