From 17 to 27 January 2007 Turin houses for the fourth time the Universiade, after the '59 and the '70 summer editions and the previous winter edition in 1966. The Universiade is born just in Turin, from a Primo Nebiolo's idea; from then it has become an international sport event, only second to the Olympic Games.
It takes place every two years, in various localities.
In this edition, together with Turin, five other localities of the province are involved: Bardonecchia, Cesana Sansicario, Pinerolo, Pragelato and Torre Pellice.
