The
mine-Museo Paola is located in Val Germagnasca in evocative Alpine countryside
in the heart of the Valdesi and Occitane Valleys.
It is situated close to the seams where fifty or so miners still work
but the museum gallery ceased activity in 1995.
The visitor can experience the environmental conditions in which thousands
of miners worked by taking the route through a kilometre and a half of
galleries using the little train and on foot. The average visit lasts
from 2 to 3 hours. Heavy clothing and sports shoes are recommended.
