Founded
in 1729 already by the 1820s the gardens containedan orangery, a hothouse
and herbarium-museum. In about 1835 a small wood was annexed to it and
further additions were made at the turn of the century. It was reopened
to the public in 1997 to exhibit local flora, useful species and exotic
rarities. The wooded area contains trees typical of the western area of
the Po Valley.
