Community Manager Mission:
The IFSC seeks a highly motivated individual to build, grow and manage communities around its brand. The Community Manager will serve as the initial point of contact for our social media (Facebook pages, website, Twitter…). About the IFSC
The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) is the world governing body for all aspects of international competition climbing. The IFSC is recognised by the IOC, is member of SportAccord and IWGA. The IFSC is a non-governmental international association with a non- profit-making purpose of international interest. Some of the missions of the IFSC are:

  • to encourage, promote, develop and supervise climbing competitions worldwide;
  • to promote the spirit of the Olympic Movement, respect the Olympic Charter, and to seek programme status in the Olympic Games;
  • to promote good sporting practice;
  • to generally promote this sport as a healthy and educational activity for youth, and a sport for all.

Most of all Sport Climbing has been shortlisted as one of eight (8) sports for the inclusion in the 2020 Olympic Games.

Key Responsibilities:
The Community Manager will ensure active and engaged communities around a defined topic or topics by managing long-lead editorial calendars, monitoring online conversations and participating in those conversations to build brand visibility. In this role, the Community Manager will work directly with the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Essential Duties:

  • Grow social media accounts (lead creation, finding of new users…)
  • Oversee and contribute recurrent content to support our corporate objectives
  • Source and manage content development and publishing
  • Be the eyes and the ears of our brand
  • Minute by minute participation in conversations that surround our content and brand, answer comments, be a mediator and a promoter
  • Schedule and organize multiple contacts which generate content on a daily basis
  • Optimize tags, on our feeds, sharing sites like YouTube and search engines
  • Create and update monthly reports
  • Make recommendations and plans for revising the social media strategy

Requirements:

  • Experience in engaging and activating community groups
  • Experience establishing metrics, gleaning community insights and reporting/recommending strategies that achieve marketing goals
  • Excellent communication skills and creative writing skills.

Profiles:

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fields.
  • Athlete and/or climber

Type of contract
Depending on profile and location:

  • Service provider contract
  • Paid Internship
  • Learning contract

Compensation: Depending on profile and type of contract

Starting date: mid July 2012

Place of work: Either at the IFSC office in Torino or at home depending on location

Lenght: Depending on profile and type of contract. Preference for a six-month renewable contract.

Language: English ; other languages are an asset.
