Many Italian cities offer cards allowing reductions on admission fees into museums, on city transport and for other tourist services.Even without acquiring one of these cards, the Ministry of Culture allows free admission to museums, galleries and archaeological sites run by the Italian government for all EU citizens under the age of 18 or over the age of 65, for students of Architecture, Art Conservation or in the Academies of Fine Arts, and for Humanities students specialising in archaeology or art history.This reduction may be obtained by showing an identification document or the enrolment certificate and a document describing the area of study directly at the ticket office of the state museum, gallery or archaeological site.Those between the ages of 18 and 25 can enter these sites with a 50% reduction on the ticket price.

Local Cards

Roma Pass

Sponosored by the City of Rome and the Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the Transport Company, this website allows users to access all public transport means in the city freely and to enter free of charge without waiting in line in the first two major city or national museums or archaeological sites the pass-holder chooses to visit. It also allows entrance at a reduced price and other discounts for other museums and sites, exhibitions, theatre and dance events as well as other tourist services. It is valid for three days and costs 20 euros.

Where to buy it
The Roma Pass can be bought at the Tourist Information Centres of the City of Rome: piazza delle Cinque Lune, Castel S. Angelo, Termini Railway Station (via Giolitti 34 Platform 24), via dei Fori Imperiali, via Minghetti, Fiumicino Airport (International Arrivals Terminal C). They can also be bought at the Rome Window (Vetrina Roma) in Piazza dei Cinquecento (Termini Railway Station).

Turin Card

The card is valid 2 or 3 or 5 or 7 days and available at the price of 18 or 20 or 30 or 35 euro. It allows the tourist to discover the beauties of Turin and the Piedmont Region.
It allows to travel free of charge on all means of public transport of the city net, except subway, and to enter free of charge in 150 museums of Turin, Metropolitan Area and Piedmond. The free access to the panoramic elevator of Mole Antonelliana, to navigation on the river Po, to Sassi-Superga tramway. Moreover the Card offers reductions on theatre, musical shows, on car rental and many other services both tourist and cultural ones;

The card can be bought at Information Points of Tourism Turin: Atrium Torino (Piazza Solferino), Porta Nuova railway station, Caselle International Airport.

Padova Card

It is a welcome tourist card promoted by Padua city hall , Province of Padua, Padua Company Services (APS), Company of Tourist Promotion that guarantees the visit to the most significant places of the Saint's city and the province, cultural and museal services, of mobility, amusement and entertainment and the free access to all the public transport net of the Aps (Padua Company Services).
It costs 14 euro (valid for 1 adult and child aged less than12 years). It has a duration of 48 hours, if bought on Friday it permits the use of the services offered for all the week-end (including the Sunday evening).

Where to buy it:
- in offices of the APS of Piazza dei Signori and the Railway station of Padua
- all the Tourist Information Offices (IAT) of the Province of Padua, Telerete Nordest
- in approximately 200 shops (newspaper stands, tabaconist, bars) situated in the historical centre of Padua and the thermal river basin (Abano, Montegrotto, Torreglia) managed by APS
- in the public parkings and precisely in the former-Guidovie, former Canova, former forum Boario of Prato of the valley.

With VeronaCard gain free entry to museums, churches and monuments in the city and travel free on AMT bus services.
There are two cards available: VeronaCard valid for one day at a cost of 8 Euro and VeronaCard valid for three days at a cost of 12 Euro.
You can buy cards at museums, monuments, churches, tobacconists in the town centre and on Lake Garda and at all the sales points which participate in the initiative.

Rolling Venice Card

Rolling Venice of Venice city council is an initiative valid all the year turned to young people between 14 and 29 years that want to know the city. At the registration they receive a card that gives them right to a series of price reductions and facilitations in order to sleep, to eat, to travel by means of transport, to visit the museums, exhibitions, theatre, cinema.
Moreover they receive a map of the city with all the facilitations indicated and a guide thought for young people with classic and unusual routes, curious news and useful information, the nature to discover and the places where to meet other guys. The cost of the card is of 4 euro.

Venice Card

VeniceCard is an unique ticket in order to have access to the main tourist services offered by the city of Venice.
It can be valid for 12 hours or 2 days or 7 days.
Two types of cards are available:
a) the Venice Card Blue: it includes public transport, toilettes, discounts on tickets to see exhibitions and cultural initiatives in Venice, etc.
b) the Venice Card Orange: it includes also free access to the 10 Venice Municipal Museums
The prices vary according to the age and if you want to exclude the connection to the airport Marco Polo.
senior category (for cardholders 30 years and over):
Venice Blue Card: euro 18,50 for 12 hours, euro 33,90 for 2 days;
Venice Card Orange: euro 29,90 for 12 hours, euro 54,90 for 2 days.
junior category (for cardholders up to 29 years old) :
Venice Blue Card: euro 16,50 for 12 hours, euro 30,90 for 2 days;
Venice Card Orange: euro 22,90 for 12 hours, euro 46,50 for 2 days.

Where to buy it:
it is possible to reserve the card every day calling the +39 041 2424 rom 8.00 to 19.30. Or, only on reservation until 48 hours before the collection, on line through one of the two Internet sites.
To take and to pay the card it will be sufficient to deliver the voucher print obtained from the reservation on line or the customer code released by the operator of the call centre in one of the points that will be indicated.

Trieste For You Card
It is a card issued by the Company of Tourist Promotion that gives the right to:
- to travel free of charge on all means of public transport of the Province of Trieste
- free entrance in the municipal museums
- agreed prices in hotels, restaurants and inns of Carso
- free sightseeing tours, with guide, of the city and of Carso
- price reductions in the discotheques, the bathing establishmentand the theatres.

It costs 8 euro for 1 day and 10 euro for 2 days

Mobility Card is a services card for the tourist but also for the citizen with motor problems, it is based on the realization of a items hiring point suitable to favour this mobility. Tourists or citizens from Ferrara, that have problems in walking for long way or in mobility in general for whichever reason, can use electrical Scooter, electrical or manual prams, deambulatories and handybikers.
The Mobility Card allows to do shopping in the Historical Centre, to visit museums, exhibitions, to see shows or to go to cafè in Centre of city, to go to the restaurant or to spend the night in hotel.

Ferrara Museums Card
The Museums Card is a card that allows the entrance to all the municipal Museums of Ferrara.
It has validity of a year from the issuing date and the entire ticket costs 14 euro and the reduced ticket 10 euro.

Where to buy it:
It is possible to buy the ticket in the Museums of Ancient Art, Modern Art and in the Gallery of Modern Art of the Palazzo dei Diamanti ("Palace of the Diamonds"). It is moreover possible to buy the cumulative tickets according to the collections you wish to visit.

Green Card Genova
The Green Card is a ticket distributed free of charge that gives the possibility to all the young people from 15 to 29 years to have reductions on the services offered by private and Public agencies for young people (culture, shopping, free time). It is possible to obtain the card presenting an identity card in the Youth Centre of Genoa and is used showing the card, together with an identity card, to the agencies, associations, structures, business services that have supported the initiative. The price reductions and/or discounts offered are usually not cumulative with other promotions and/or offers proposed by the single agencies and shops.

The Card Giovani La Spezia (La Spezia Young People Card) is a card aimed to young people aged between 15 and 30 years and costs euro 2,58 euro (1,55 for soldiers).
It grants discounts and price reductions for shopping, culture, sport, free time and other activities. It is necessary to present the card together with a means of identification, to the agencies, associations, public shops that have supported the initiative and that are identifiable through the Punto Card adhesive.

The card grants a series of discounts:
- entrance to the Chapel of Saint Brizio, to archaeological Museums "C. Faina" and civic museum, to the Tower of Moro - guided tour to the Orvieto Underground
- A/R ticket minibus and funicular railway or 5 hours of parking Campo della Fiera (Field of the fair).
Its costs euro 12,50
- reduced ticket costs € 10,50 (students, old people, groups over 15 people.)

Campania Artecard: Naples and the surrounding region

The Artecard has a number of offers for museums and archaeological sites in Naples and the Campi Flegrei area. Alternatively, it also includes Pompeii and Ercolano, and the sites in Caserta, ancient Capua and Paestum. It allows cardholders to use the entire public transport network free of charge (including transport to the airport from the city) and a round trip on the MM1 service of the Metrò del Mare, or it may include the entire public transport network of the whole Campania Region. Cards are valid for 3 or 7 days. Each offer has a reduced cost for young people between the ages of 18 and 25. They also have the right to a number of other discounts.

Cost and where to buy it:
The card has a cost of 13.00, 25.00 or 28.00 euros depending on the offer. Reduced rates are 8.00, 18.00 or 21.00 euros for young people between the ages of 18 and 25. Cards are sold at the airport, in railway and metro stations, at the port, in the main hotels in the city, in ANM parking lots, travel agencies, on Internet, in all museums and the sites on the circuit, and in larger newsstands.
