Turin 2010: A sens..a(c)tional year!
TURIN, EUROPEAN YOUTH CAPITAL

With the nomination as European Youth Capital Turin will experience a really sens...a(c)tional 2010. That's why we have decided to talk about this event through the senses, browsing through the agenda and interviewing, thanks to the editorial staff of www.digi.to.it, four famous Turinese involved in the project,who have a particularly keen sight, hearing, taste, touch.

In February Levitazione will be inaugurated. It is a place, where students can be the protagonists. In fact within ITC Levi (a Secondary School) there will be some new facilities which can be used by all the Turinese students:a rehearsal room,an auditorium and some multifunctional rooms. From 7th to 14th February the main event of the year will take place: the European Youth Parliament Forum (www.eypitaly. org).

Democrazia 2.0 - Sostenibilità, a great event about active citizenship and participation, will be held from March 1st to March 4th (www.democrazia20.it).

Then, on 6th March another important event: the 17th Student Press Forum.

In Spring the Art Schools taking part in the Comitato Creo (Creo Committee) will set up a Multimedia art work in progress, that is the creation of a work of art that will change with time and to which new elements will be added day by day.

In April Giocateatro Festival will be held, the big theatre festival organized by Fondazione Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani.

From 3rd to 7th May Lingue in Scena will be under the spotlight, in the true sense of the word; that's the European multi-lingual theatre whose protagonists are both secondary school pupils and university students. For those who love the theatre, May will be an interesting month because the IX International Street Theatre Festival will take place.

The period between 7th and 10th May will be a new opportunity to show one's creativity: the Student Performing Festival at Palaisozaki. It's a real celebration where all the young people can show their art performances and express their creativity. In June, with the realization of drawings and paintings on the walls of the Olympic Stadium,the festival of Murarte Sport will end. It's an initiative in order to make people aware of sport, which is carried out in the city secondary schools. Also Sport & the City, another cultural event which will be held from 13th to 20th June, will allow people to practise the most popular sports in the city parks, like Ruffini, Pellerina and Colletta Park.

On 21st June another important musical event, Musiche in Me Minore, on the occasion of the European music festival.

From 1st to 10th July at Future Campus, organized in collaboration with ESOF Euroscience Open Forum (www.esof2010.org), people will have debates about science, energy, sustainable development and the future.

In September another important moment: The Thinking Pot week,where young European university students will be invited to meet, to get to know each other, to discuss about their rights and to build their future. Also in the month of September there will be the most extreme weekend of 2010 (Street Sport Plaza): in piazza Vittorio there will be competitions and exhibitions of street sports (from skateboard to parkour, from bike polo to bmx) and all over the city you will be able to take part in the "Urban Ride", the team competition that is a mix of all the most spectacular urban sports. At the end of the year the festival continues, in fact in November the Notte Bianca (a night when nobody goes to sleep and bars and restaurants are open) of young artists will take place.

All year long the bus of Centro Informa- Giovani of Turin - the Infogiro bus - will provide the usual information about job, study and entertainment opportunities for young Turinese and it will also follow the agenda of Turin 2010 European Youth Capital, acting as a mobile information point moving around the city.
