INHALE... IT'S INSPIRING
The Fine Arts Academy and the Conservatory are buildings that have hosted inspired personalities, art galleries, artists' studios and artisan workshops... a unique atmosphere can be felt here, something you can breathe, along the streets and in the squares: inspiration.
PIAZZA CARLO EMANUELE II
Considered the heart of "Borgo Nuovo", it's permeated by an intimate and close atmosphere: sit on the benches in the shade beneath the monument to Cavour and... let yourself be inspired. There are splendid noble palaces looking onto the square: at n. 13 palazzo Roero di Guarene, at n. 26 palazzo Coardi di Carpeneto, at n. 15 the "income house", right next to is Santa Croce church and at n. 4 the Former Collegio delle Province.

VIA MARIA VITTORIA
A road where time seems to have stopped: the past is renewed in the antique shops that are so many as to call it the antique dealers street, while the future is designed inside the interior design show rooms always avant-garde. There are also many art galleries.
PALAZZO DAL POZZO DELLA CISTERNA
Headquarters of Turin's Province, its construction began in 1675. Renovated many times up to the end of the XIX century, it is full of history, to be admired: the main façade in classical style, the atrium with the grand staircase and the internal garden are true jewels. Turin's Province historical library is on the ground floor. Free entrance.

PIAZZA MARIA TERESA
Quiet, characterised by a typically Turinese discreet charm, and surrounded by nineteenth century palaces, it's the ideal place to enter a "fin de siècle" atmosphere and feel a bit snobbish. While you cross the square, which has been used as setting for many films, be careful as you walk: the paving is made of river stones.
PIAZZA BODONI
The most Parisian of Turin's squares, especially beautiful at night when the streetlights flood it with a feeble yet at the same time bright light. At the centre the equestrian monument to Alfonso La Marmora, on one side the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory.
PALAZZO GRANERI DELLA ROCCIA
Built during the second half of the17th Century by Baroncelli, it is a significant example of Piedmontese Baroque; inside, the atrium and the grand staircase are by Guarino Guarini, whilst the beautiful garden resembles a drawing. Since 1858 headquarters of the "Artists' circle", which had illustrious members like d'Azeglio and Cavour: the count's study within the building has remained practically intact. Since 2006 it has also been the headquarters of the Readers' Club. (foto)

ALBERTINA ACADEMY AND PICTURE GALLERY
Turin's Fine Arts Academy, among the most ancient in Italy, was set up in the ancient island of San Francesco by Carlo Alberto, from whom it takes its name. The picture gallery was established in 1829: the collection's centre piece, made up of over 300 works including paintings, drawings and sculptures are the cartoons by Gaudenzio Ferrari, unique collection in the world of a graphic background from a Renaissance workshop.

SAN FILIPPO NERI CHURCH
The biggest in Turin. During its building, in the first half of 18th Century, the dome collapsed. The reconstruction was entrusted to Juvarra and completed only in the following century, when the classical façade's pronaos was built. San Filippo's oratory is a suggestive place; it has a lowered barrel vault, pilasters with golden capitals and eighteenth century paintings. Only open for concerts and cultural events.

Chiesa di San Filippo Neri
"CAVOUR" GARDENS
Surrounded by very beautiful noble buildings, recently renovated and really Turinese!
Please observe the pastel colours.
