Itinerary - Vanchiglia -Being Turinese
AVAN... CHIGLIA

At the beginning there were little shops, factories and artisan workshops. Creating indeed is and has always been a characteristic of the neighbourhood.

Then the University was opened and in particular the humanistic faculties. And along with them knowledge and art culture moved to this area. Et voilà! It only took a very short time to make this match the basis of the Vanchiglia area.
Today there are about fifty studios: from graphic, to photographic and video, from theatrical to ceramics, from prints to jewels. Artists meet, confront each other and mix together. A coffee in the café round the corner, an aperitif together, a few words outside the grocer's shop. Their creations are born here among the typical places of creative people as well as those of the ordinary people.

It was in this way that the idea of LOV (Vanchiglia Open Lab) was created, the network of artists who work in Vanchiglia. They, in between a snack and a drink at the cool Margò bar in via Buniva, have planned to group their artistic experiences together in order to enrich each other's creativity and make art the distinctive mark of this district.

And this mark is clearly visible. You only have to walk lazily, out of curiosity, along these streets, which still remind you of a village atmosphere, to notice and be surprised by it.
A glimpse inside a courtyard, a glance from a window, a look through a gate. The signs of original and eclectic culture are evident almost everywhere and sometimes assume bizarre features. Go and look for them: it's worth it.

So, alert all your senses because: Creativity is VISIBLE:
Slice of polenta: food or a building?
LOV - night: the open-studio night

You can SMELL creativity:
