Capitale Europea dei Giovani

Nel 2010 Torino è stata la Capitale Europea dei Giovani.

Il titolo di “European Youth Capital” è stato ideato dal Forum Europeo dei Giovani e dalla Città di Rotterdam, che si è proposta come prima capitale per il 2009.

Per il 2010 è stata lanciata una selezione in cui Torino ha partecipato e vinto, battendo la concorrenza di altre città europee, e il suo esempio è stato seguito dalle prossime Capitali dei Giovani: Anversa 2011, Braga 2012, Maribor 2013.

Torino è stata premiata per la tradizione e l’esperienza nel campo delle politiche giovanili, per la scena culturale viva e in continua trasformazione, per l’attivismo dell’associazionismo giovanile, per la riconosciuta capacità di gestire grandi eventi.

In 2010 Turin was elected European Youth Capital.
The title of “European Youth Capital” was created by the European Youth Forum and the city of Rotterdam, which stepped up as first Youth Capital for the year 2009.

For the following year a selection campaign was launched, in which the title was assigned to Turin, beating the competition of other European cities. Its lead is being followed by the next youth capitals: Antwerp 2011, Braga 2012, Maribor 2013.

Turin was awarded the title as a result of its tradition and experience in the field of youth policies, for its lively cultural scene in continuous transformation, for the intense activity of its youth associations, and its proven capacity to host major events.
