The new Immigration portal dedicated to procedures for the issue and renewal of permits to stay and residence permits is now on-line.

The portal is promoted by the Ministry of the Interior in collaboration with the Italian Post Office and Anci.

From November 6, 2006 the service will be active in the central police stations of Prato, Ancona, Verbania, Frosinone and Brindisi.

Requests for the issue and renewal of permits to stay and residence permits, of the typologies listed in the link 'The new procedure' must be presented at the authorised post offices desks to process these applications (see Application Office Search).

Citizens of the European Union countries can choose whether to present the applications for issue-renewal of the residence permit at the authorised post offices desks, or directly at their area Immigration Office.

In the dedicated area reserved for foreign citizens you can verify the application progress state, and in the area reserved for the Municipal Authorities, Charities, Societies and Associations the request can be filled in on-line, so the applicant can then take the application to the authorised post office desk.
