Free of charge offered by notaries and building surveyors

Published 2009.10.19

Due to start again on Monday 19 October the afternoon consultancy service free of charge offered by notaries and building surveyors in the civic libraries of Turin. This confirms the role of the council structure in spreading information regarding the community. A role which will increasingly be consolidated. Together with the respective professional categories, the council is thinking about extending the initiative to architects and engineers.

A forerunner, together with the urban Lybrary System, was the Notaries Council of Turin, whose members willingly accepted to set-up one year ago a calendar of meetings with citizens. The initiative with professionals was immediately a great success among the inhabitants of Turin, who benefited from the meetings (each of them was around twenty minutes long) by asking questions of immediate solution. The topics covered were contracts, successions, and disputes. Only during the last cycle in spring, there were 562 informal meetings with notaries in the civic libraries. Confident in this well appreciated initiative, it came then the meeting with building surveyors, who from May until June met 197 people.

The meetings with the surveyors - which also in this case was made possible thanks to the commitment of the Board of Surveyors of Turin and its Province - provide an information service on issues such as energy savings, land register, estate estimates, buildings tax concessions and condominium issues.

To book meetings it is possible to call the libraries or consult the internet website of the Council: http://www.comune.torino.it/cultura/biblioteche.
