'EC Long-Term Residence Permit'

The residence permit will be called the 'EC Long-Term Residence Permit'.

Foreign citizens wishing to obtain it, should submit the following documents:

  • a current residence permit valid for at least 5 years;
  • a yearly income equivalent to not less than the annual social welfare allowance;
  • suitable accommodation that falls within the minimum criteria described in regional legislation governing public residential housing, i.e. accommodation meeting the hygiene,health requirements required by the local area health service (ASL), in the case of requests for family members.

The EC Long-Term Residence Permit for applicants and family members falling within the norms for reunited family members (as per art. 29 of the Consolidated Law on Immigration) must be requested from the competent ‘Questura’ request.
