Informa Casa is on line

Published 2008.06.18

A new site entitled 'Informa Casa: policies for the home and development of the city outskirts' is now online.

This latest tool offers updated information on the housing policies enacted by the City of Turin and on the studies and statistics published annully by the Observatory of Living Conditions.

How are housing rent prices fixed and where can I obtain such information?

Rent prices are negotiated at a local territorial level by all relevant associations in all the municipalities with high residential levels.

Every municipality is subdivided into zones with a range of rent prices being negotiated and agreed on for each zone.

The actual rent for a certain type of accommodation can be calculated quite easily given that the agreement contains a number of parameters to be taken into consideration (type of accommodation, current state of maintenance, fixtures and furnishings, electrical systems, wiring, etc. and bathroom facilities) based on the zone in which the accommodation is located.

The calculation of rented property prices is legally binding.

As a consequence of this, any agreement exceeding the aforesaid range of prices can be considered null and void with the tenant having the right to be compensated for any excess rent paid.

Tables showing the agreed set levels and relevant parameters used to calculate rent can be obtained from municipal offices or tenant and owner protection association offices.
