International
hotels and italian hospitality for high quality fairs and conferences.

|
From
the production of goods to the production of knowledge, from a place of
manufacturing to a place of trading, Torino is undergoing a profound change
in its economic structure and culture, supported by a coherent process
of innovation in its infrastructures.
Recently, Torino has expanded and renovated its accommodation facilities.
Today, they are comparable to the highest international standards, with
the extra benefit of typically Italian comfort and hospitality.
There are about 150 hotels in Torino, over a third of which are three
or four star hotels: a range that responds to all needs - from tourism
to a business trip.
Torino's range of trade fair and conference venues is on a par with the
top European locations. Competitive in both size and cost, they are often
better in terms of quality and facilities. Among its strong points are
the multi-functional Lingotto complex, one of the newest in Europe, hosting
events of international importance in an area of over 22,000 square metres,
and Torino Incontra, the Chamber of Commerce conference centre,
located in the heart of the city and fitted with cutting-edge audio-visual
equipment. As a whole, Torino's conference centres oer more than 5,000
seats in permanent structures - with the possibility of organising events
for up to 10,000 participants.
The Convention Bureau was founded in 1999 to spread the word about
the city's potential as a location for conferences and conventions. International
promotion of the city as an ideal meeting point is only one of its tasks.
It is, in fact, an operational co-ordinating body that can also offer
the organisation of "turn-key" special events. The central reception
organisation is an extremely important tool for organisers, who will be
able to talk to a single body for complete local information.
Each year, Torino exhibition centres host more than 40 cultural, technical,
scientific and commercial events. This is where the International Motor
Show is held, one of the world's most important events in the sector.
It is also where the Book Fair was begun, an event that attracts
visitors from throughout Europe every year, playing an important role
in promoting books. There is also Artissima, a fixed appointment
for artists, gallery owners and critics and the Salone del Gusto,
the gastronomy fair.
